We each have our own background with pain - we know how to help because we’ve been there
Kiyoki Rykman
TIER 2 LMT, CCT, CMLDT, Clinic Owner
I’ve been practicing bodywork since 2008. In the beginning, I fell in love with the relaxation benefits of massage and I worked at a few destination spas along the beautiful California coast. Along the way, I discovered orthopedic and medical benefits from advanced bodywork modalities and I shifted my practice toward treating pain and chronic conditions.
Today, I see patients from several local chiropractors, orthopedists, physical therapists, acupuncturists, craniosacral therapists, and functional medicine doctors. I take cases from providers regarding general or specific pain, auto accident, surgery, auto immune symptoms, restricted range of motion, and scar tissue restriction.
My job is incredibly rewarding – I get to help and see people through all kinds of physical, mental, and emotional obstacles and watch them eventually reach their goals. The success cases are what motivate me to continue practicing and learning new skills. I genuinely love my job.
My personal pain cases:
In 2017 after my second child was born, I had terrible deep glute and SI joint pain and I would cycle through low level constant pain and high level intermittent pain. X-rays and an MRI showed that my right SI joint and sacrum were heavily rotated and that I had a tucked coccyx. This probably happened during pregnancy and delivery. CBD, cupping therapy, physical therapy, and chiropractic got me back to normal within a few months time.
In 2020, I was struck in a car accident and it left me with intermittent migraines and high level pain that continued for months. For the first few mornings after the accident, it took me about 20 minutes to inch myself out of bed each day. X-rays showed that my neck and low back were a total mess. I taught my husband and another therapist friend a cupping treatment protocol to use on my back and neck so that I could lower my pain level enough to continue working. I also received chiropractic care and physical therapy as part of my recovery. This process took about 6 months before I felt mostly back to normal again.
I understand first hand what acute and chronic pain feels like. I also understand how tedious the journey to recovery can be, but I believe that the effort we put forth now is worth how we will feel in our future.

TIER 1 LMT, HEALTH EDUCATOR
After receiving an early retirement from the Marine Corps at just 25, I sought the world of massage therapy to reduce my own pain and improve my ability to comfortably live everyday life while helping others. In 2015 I enrolled in National Holistic Institute College of Massage Therapy and attended the Petaluma and Sacramento campuses to complete their 1350 hour Advanced Neuromuscular Massage Therapist program. I furthered my education through RockTape FMTcourses and am certified to provide their kinesiology taping and other services.
Pain and Injury:
I spent my life being active, participating in sports, outdoors activities, and generally active and outside. After eight years a Marine infantryman fulfilling various roles, and a few car accidents, my body was battered. Luckily I had no major injuries, but did suffer many smaller injuries that caused creep that began impacting my active lifestyle. Through bodywork, movement education, physical therapy, and chiropractic care I was able to return to most of the activities I love pain free. In 2022, I blew my ACL at a taekwondo tournament and had it subsequently reconstructed a few months later. The recovery from surgery was the most grueling pain of my life. Today, I still have minor pains that do not stop me from doing most activities, but do force me to take breaks from powerlifting from time to time while I continue my own journey to a pain free life.
Bodywork Philosophy:
The best and worst part of the body is: it’s all connected! A complete and detailed history of injuries, activities of daily life, and those weekend warrior activities all matter. An injury from years ago may secretly still be plaguing your body today. Something in your foot that either causes pain or dysfunction can be affecting the knee, hip, back, shoulder, and neck on both the same side and opposite side of the body. Every session will need an assessment prior to bodywork being completed, discussion of what the goals are, and a post bodywork assessment so you can see and feel the differences accomplished during the visit. A complete comprehensive plan will be created and recommended for ongoing bodywork to help you live and perform at your best!

Kind words from our clients:
-
"Kiyoki was very professional and informative! It was my first time receiving a massage, so she made sure to cover everything procedure wise with me to make sure I felt 100% comfortable! I could tell from the start she was very knowledgeable about her profession and cares deeply about giving each client an individual and personalized experience!"

"I moved away from Austin in 2020 to Dallas-Fort Worth. I have searched high and low, and honestly, the best masseuse that I have found is only half as good as Kiyoki. Not being paid or prompted to say this, not even sure if Kiyoki remembers me as a client at this point lol. But she’s passionate about bodywork and it SHOWS. This isn’t meant to insult others in their craft, but she has something special. If you are lucky enough to be in the area, head to Round Rock & let Kiyoki help you out. I miss having access to her healing hands, but I appreciated the time I did have. Will definitely be doing a little trip out to the area this year, and getting the longest massage they allow lol. Completely worth it."

"Kiyoki is one of a kind, very hard to find REAL professional who has a lot of knowledge in her field of work. She's not just great at massage, but she can find and point out things that you never knew about your body. I would definitely recommend and return for her service."

"I've worked with more body work practitioners than I can count. Derrick is simply better, better educated, better skilled and more invested that anyone I've seen. He listens and partners with you and is always looking for meaningful improvement, not just short term pain relief."
