FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the difference between TIER 1, TIER 2, and TIER 3 massage therapists?
All of our therapists are highly trained and educated with clinical experience. We feel confident that you will get great therapy no matter who you see! It's just that our advanced therapists generally have a few more years of experience, advanced certifications, or are in higher demand than others. If you are dealing with a chronic issue, a severe injury, or just want to know that you're going to get the most experienced therapist, then choosing a TIER 2 or TIER 3 therapist is a good option.
Why don’t you accept tips / gratuities?
We believe tipping culture in the US has gotten out of control - here’s a 2024 article that explains the current American tipping fatigue problem. Simply put, you don’t want an extra fee added to the sticker price of your appointment and we don’t like the awkward feeling of asking you for more money. Instead of accepting tips, we prefer to charge a transparent flat rate for our services and pay our employees adequately. This guarantees consistent income for our staff and allows us to provide them with employee benefits.
How early should I arrive?
Arrive about 5 minutes early, please. We just need you to give yourself enough time to check in at the front desk and use the restroom before we bring you back to the treatment room. Our front door may be locked while we are in other appointments, so arriving earlier than 5 minutes might leave you waiting for us, which we prefer not to have happen. If you received a secure digital intake form via email, please have this form filled out prior to the start of your appointment time (forms can be filled out using a computer, a tablet, or a smart phone).
What should I wear?
Feel free to wear what you like to your appointment. Some clients like to be completely undressed during their massage, while others prefer to keep their underwear on - either option is fine with us and we always keep you modestly draped with sheets while we work on you.
*If your appointment is with Derrick, please wear or bring athletic shorts and a sports bra - his work often times involves a lot of movement and wearing these items makes things easy and keeps you modestly covered.
Do you have a shower?
Unfortunately, we don't. We offer warm towels if your skin feels a bit oily post-massage. Many of our clients head right back to work or meetings after their appointment. If you need us to stay away from your hair or take extra care around your makeup, just let us know and we will accommodate that.
How far out should I book?
We sometimes have same or next day availability, but we suggest scheduling in advance with our high demand therapists. Our schedule fills up quickly and we don't want to leave you waiting any longer than you'd like to.
Do your have a cancellation / waiting list I can be added to?
Yes, we can add your to our wait list since our highly demanded therapists are often booked solid for weeks at any given time. Please let our staff know which therapist you’re waiting for and your contact information and we will contact you ASAP when a slot with that therapists becomes available. In the meantime, we do suggest booking appointments out into the future.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that urgent things arise in life and that you may need to change your scheduled plans, but please understand that our time is valuable and it is how we make our income. We do require at least 24 hours notice of appointment change or of appointment cancellation so that we have time to refill that space with another appointment. There may be a $50 charge if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice.
We require full payment of the booked appointment in the following circumstances:
No-show or missed appointments.
Cancellations within a 3 hour time window prior to the scheduled appointment start time.
Late arrivals – arriving late for a service may require shortening the length of the treatment.
If we notice a pattern of needing to cancel with less than 24 hours notice then we may ask you to prepay for your next appointment.
If you're running late to your appointment, please call/text us as soon as possible at (512) 883 2041. If we have not heard from you after 15 minutes into your scheduled appointment time, we will consider you a No Call No Show and invoice you for the cancellation fee.
Do you accept insurance?
We do not bill insurance directly, but we can provide receipts and medical notes for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
Do you work with personal injury or worker’s compensation claims?
Yes, we see personal injury and worker’s compensation patients. Please discuss your case details your case with your therapist or one of our receptionists.
Do your work with members of the LGBTQ+ community?
Yes, our therapists work with members of the LGBTQ+ community. Please inform our staff of your preferred pronouns during booking.
Do you work with pediatric patients or elderly patients?
Yes, our therapists work with both pediatric and elderly patients. Minors will need to have a parent or guardian present in the treatment room with them for the duration of their appointment time.
Do you work with pregnant/prenatal patients?
Yes, some of our massage therapists work with the pregnant population. We can see you during all trimesters and appropriate bolstering will be used when necessary to ensure womb safety.
Do you book couples?
Unfortunately, we are not booking couples at this time. We can schedule simultaneous appointments in separate treatment rooms. It’s easier to do that over the phone than using our online scheduler so give us a call at 512-774-4640 when you’re ready to schedule.
Do you offer scrubs, wraps, muds, or other spa services?
We only offer one spa service, the “Restorative Escape Vacation”, which is a 2 hour relaxing massage with 3 spa add-ons included. Why 2 hours? Because it usually takes someone about 20-30 minutes to settle in during the massage and then they begin to relax - we want you to indulge during this service and pamper yourself with a mini stay-cation. This service makes a perfect gift for a loved one or for yourself when you want to treat yo’ self! All other times, we excel in clinical massage therapy because the clinical work is what alleviates pain and remediates issues the best.
Do you work with other local health and wellness providers?
Yes, we do! We are located within a wellness collective and we believe that working together on your case will get you the results you want more effectively. We can provide you with several local health and wellness resources for what we don’t have room for in-house. We are happy to work together with out-of-house providers on your case. Our goal is to resolve your issues and ailments as quickly and effectively as possible.
