Our Mission

Our goal at Kraken Massage & Body is to promote and facilitate pain-free, healthy living through our work. We know that every body is different and that every person responds differently to each treatment. We are trained in a variety of bodywork modalities and we use a comprehensive approach to treating your current condition as an individual.

Our clientele ranges from competitive athletes and chronic pain sufferers to those who just want to drift away and relax. While our specialty is clinical pain relief and pain management, we also offer select spa treatments for our clients that prefer a little indulgence.

About the Owner

“Massage and bodywork can provide so much more than simply a relaxing experience for the receiver: it greatly improves the physiological systems of our body and it aids in the re-centering of our mental and emotional well-being.” – Kiyoki

Kiyoki has been studying and practicing bodywork since 2008. In the beginning, she fell in love with the incredible relaxation benefits of massage and she worked at a few destination spas along the beautiful California coast. Along the way, she discovered orthopedic and medical benefits from advanced bodywork modalities and shifted her practice toward treating pain and chronic conditions.

Kiyoki received her Massage Practitioner certification from the California Holistic Institute in San Luis Obispo, CA in 2009. She also received her Massage Therapist certification from The Lauterstein-Conway Massage School in Austin, TX in 2018. She received her Advanced Contemporary Cupping Therapy Methods certification from the International Cupping Therapy Association in 2019.

Staff

Shana B.

Shana is sweet and bubbly and she enjoys helping others. She loves animals and she devoted years of her time to pet rescue. She originally went to massage therapy school in 2015 to learn how to benefit animals through touch therapy, but then she realized how much she enjoyed working with humans as well. Shana’s touch is calm and nurturing and she’s fantastic at putting you at ease and making you feel completely restored. Shana can accommodate light to firm pressure. She loves bringing restoration to tired mothers and she wants to help more pregnant and postnatal people. Shana will be learning advanced Orthopedic Massage skills from Kiyoki. Eventually, she plans to obtain her Cupping Therapy Certification and she’s excited to do amazing things with those new tools.

Logan D.

Logan comes to us from an athletic and sports therapy background and he’s hoping to expand his orthopedic skills at Kraken. He has a passion for helping people and he aims to bring health and wellness to all. Logan’s touch is relaxing, firm, and precise. He provides a fantastic deep tissue massage. He enjoys working with athletes and military personnel. Logan recently gained his Cupping Therapy certification from ICTA (International Cupping Therapy Association) and will be mentoring with Kiyoki to learn the Advanced Cupping Therapy techniques that she implements into her work.
